Exploring Experiential Learning Through Community Engagement in Nepal

Examining how community-engaged, cross-cultural technology projects shape student learning and social impact in Nepal’s university environment.

A research and design project examining how community-engaged, cross-cultural technology projects shape student learning and social impact in Nepal’s university environment. Through qualitative interviews and thematic analysis, we studied the effectiveness and outcomes of the INSPIRE program in Nepal, where student teams co-designed real software solutions with local community partners. The project highlights how mentorship, human-centered design, and community partnership foster technical growth, confidence, employability, and meaningful social impact beyond traditional internships.
