Bachan Ghimire

I am a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Victoria with research interests at the intersection of AI-assisted software engineering, requirements engineering, and human-AI collaboration.

Before my PhD, I completed my MSc in Computer Science at UVic (2023), MSc in Project Management (2021) and spent several years as a founder and CTO of Kathmandu Codes, building cloud-based systems for over 40 organizations across Nepal and internationally. I also served as a data analyst with the W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council, developing marine monitoring tools for First Nations leadership.

Alongside my research, I serve as Program Manager of the INSPIRE UVic program, an initiative I helped expand across Canada and Nepal, connecting student teams with nonprofits to build technology solutions for real social challenges. My work in Software Ecosystems has been recognized with a Best Paper Award at ICSOB 2023, and I bring a combination of industry depth, research interest, and community impact to my graduate work.
